Sheldon, Iowa – Two years of construction and renovation came to fruition Wednesday morning when the ribbon was cut on the newly-expanded and renovated Sheldon Community High School. A large contingent of faculty, staff, Sheldon dignitaries and citizens were on hand to celebrate what Superintendent Cory Myer called a “wonderful, beautiful facility.”

He tells us that the footprint of the original building was greatly increased through this project.

Myer gave a special thank you to the custodial staff who worked through the construction mess to get the building sparkling in time for the 2026-27 school year, to the teachers and students for the challenges they’ve faced during the construction period, and to the community at large.

Sheldon Development Director Tania Herrera was on hand, and she says she’s impressed with the finished school.

Sheldon Mayor Greg Geels called the completed renovation & expansion a “wonderful addition to Sheldon.”

Following Wednesday morning’s Ribbon Cutting, the guests were invited to tour the impressive facility.
