Rock Valley, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — A Rock Valley man is facing a felony burglary charge after an alleged incident in Rock Valley late last month.
The Rock Valley Police Department arrested 37-year-old Ever Adali Rodriguez-Gutierrez of Rock Valley on Thursday, May 7th, on a charge of third-degree burglary, a Class D felony. Bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Sioux County District Court, the alleged incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on April 27th in the 1600 block of 18th Street in Rock Valley. Court documents state Rodriguez-Gutierrez was found inside an occupied structure and later told law enforcement he had entered the building to assist another suspect in “getting a couple of doors for a small piece of furniture.”
Investigators allege Rodriguez-Gutierrez did not have permission to enter the structure.
If convicted, Rodriguez-Gutierrez could face up to five years in prison and fines.
Court records indicate probable cause in the case, including admissions or statements made by Rodriguez-Gutierrez, officers observing the alleged crime, and Rodriguez-Gutierrez being located near the scene.
The case remains pending in Sioux County District Court.
