Primghar, Iowa — Bob and Scott’s Grocery and Black Hills Energy are partnering to start a Little Free Pantry to help address food insecurity in Primghar.
Black Hills Energy officials tell us multiple organizations have partnered with Black Hills Energy to provide this critical community-powered resource to those in need. The Little Free Pantry is one of several being installed across Nebraska and Iowa as part of an employee-led service project to design, build, and install more than two dozen pantries in communities across the Black Hills Energy service areas.
The pantry will be at Bob and Scott’s Grocery at 101 1st St NE, in Primghar.
City leaders, nonprofit partners, and community members are all invited to attend the Primghar Little Free Pantry ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony, which will be on Thursday (July 23rd), starting at 3:00 p.m.
Black Hills Energy officials tell us that “Take what you need. Leave what you can” is the spirit behind the Little Free Pantry movement. They say Little Free Pantries are community-based and built on trust, kindness, and local support. They are available 24/7, allowing anyone to access the pantry at any time, no questions asked.
