IARN – One of the most stressful parts of raising livestock is vaccinating your herd, and that’s especially true for swine producers. The process can be risky for both the livestock and the farmhands administering the vaccines. For the past 20 years, Merck Animal Health has developed the IDAL needle-free intradermal vaccination system, which eliminates the traditional needle and offers a convenient approach that promotes safety for both livestock and producers. Dr. Abbie Redalen, senior managing technical services veterinarian at Merck, said there are several benefits to a needle-free system.
