Sioux City, Iowa – A Northwestern College Red Raider has earned Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Softball Player-of-the-Week honors as announced by the GPAC Tuesday, April 21st.
Ava Gross is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports softball player-of-the-week. Gross, a freshman from Ruthererfordton, North Carolina, established a new single season homerun record with her third homerun in the doubleheader with the College of Saint Mary.
She followed that up with a four-hit day against Concordia on Saturday. She tied Northwestern’s single season hits record with her final hit of the week and has 73 hits this season. She also stole four bases and scored 11 runs while knocking in 12 this week. She also went 2-0 in the circle in two starts.
