Dordt Volleyball Plays Four This Weekend

Lacrosse, Wisconsin — Viterbo in Lacrosse, Wisconsin is hosting the 2021 Days Inn and Suites Viterbo Invitational on Friday and Saturday, September 10 and 11 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.  Dordt will two matches each day in its final non-conference tests of the season.

The Defenders are 7-0 this season and 2-0 in the GPAC with league wins over Morningside and Briar Cliff.

Dordt holds a 13.48-11.16 kills per set advantage over opponents and Dordt also has a 34-28 ace serves advantage. Dordt is getting 2.12 blocks per set for points and allow 1.64.

Corrina Timmermans leads the team with 4.04 kills per set and Jessi Franken has a 3.0 average and Krommendyk’s average is 2.8. Megan Raszler and Campbell Marshall account for 6.12 and 4.96 assists per set average. Erica Bousema has a 5.96 assists per set average and Krommendyk averages a team high 1.36 blocks per outing.

Carroll is 4-3 and haven’t played since the last weekend in August. Carroll’s wins are over Dickinson State and Northwest (Washington), Grand View and the College of Idaho.

The V-Hawks of Viterbo are 12-1 this season with the lone loss coming to Midland on August 28. Viterbo holds a 14.07-9.57 kills per set edge on opponents with a 2.22-1.5 blocks per set advantage and the VHawks also have an 83-42 season advantage in ace serves.

Dearborn is 1-3 this season with a win over Calumet to their credit. Kristin Maust is good for 2.33 kills and Gina Giacomini is at 2.0 as Dearborn holds a slight 10.78-10.44 kills per set advantage. Teams have a 20-16 ace serves advantage against Dearborn and Regan Sliwinski tops the team with 1.11 blocks.

The Grizzlies of Rocky Mountain are 6-4 this season and split four contests last weekend with wins over Valley City State (North Dakota) and Baker (Kansas) and losses to SAGU and Dakota Wesleyan (South Dakota).

Dordt’s win over Carroll earlier this season made the series 3-0 in favor of the Defenders.

Viterbo holds a 5-3 advantage over Dordt in a series that dates back to 2011 and this will be the first meeting between the two since 2018.

Dordt and Dearborn have never played each other.

Rocky Mountain and Dordt have split their four meetings.

Dordt will travel to Jamestown, North Dakota to face the Jimmies on September 15 before returning home to play Dakota Wesleyan on September 22.
