Harrisburg Takes Two From Western

Harrisburg, South Dakota — The Harrisburg Tigers swept the Western Christian Wolfpack Tuesday night in Harrisburg. The girls score was 56-42, and the boys score was 67-48.

In the girls game, Western was able to keep pace early staying to within 11-10 late in the first, but the Tigers took a 17-10 lead into the second quarter. The Tigers continued to pull away heading into halftime with a 29-17 lead. After three it was 43-24, and Harrisburg went on to win 56-42.

Harrisburg had two players in double figures. They got a game high 22 from Brecli Honner, and 13 from Emilee Boyer. Western had a team high 6 points from Sienna Moss.

With the win Harrisburg improves to 7-0 on the year. Western falls to 2-7.

In the boys game, Harrisburg jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but Western battled back to tie it up at 9-9, then the Tigers took a 16-11 lead into the second quarter. In the second, the game remained close with Harrisburg leading 29-25 heading into the half. The Tigers started to pull away in the second half, with a 48-40 lead after three, and went on to win 67-48.

Harrisburg had 2 players in double figures. They got a game high 18 from Conner Gerdes, and 17 from Blaze Lubbers. Western’s high scorer was Ty Van Essen with 13.

With the win Harrisburg improves to 6-0 on the year. Western falls to 6-3 on the season.

Up next for Western is a road trip to Storm Lake on Friday.
