The Iowa State athletic department reported no positive COVID-19 tests this past week but Cyclone football coach Matt Campbell admits there is always anxiety when it comes to testing.
The football team is tested three times weekly, including a Friday test that will determine if Saturday’s Big-12 opener at TCU will be played.
Campbell says the plane trip to Texas will be different than in past years
Campbell says he has been impressed with the commitment from the players to help remain healthy and keep the season going.
Campbell expects to see major improvement on Saturday. The Cyclones opened with a 31-14 loss at home to Louisiana.
Campbell says tight end Charlie Kolar and offensive lineman Trevor Downing may play on Saturday. Kolar missed the Louisiana game with an injury and Downing suffered a sprained ankle in the opener.
