Iowa vs Purdue Preview

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says the Hawkeyes are focused on Purdue and not the big picture.

Iowa takes a 6-2 record into a game against the Boilers and need a win to keep their west division hopes alive.

Ferentz says it is better to be focused on winning than the division race.

Ferentz is confident quarterback Nate Stanley will bounce back. The junior threw a pair of interceptions and only completed 18 of 49 passes in a loss at Penn State.

Ferentz says the entire offense struggled.

Ferentz says the challenge this week is very similar to last week’s game against Penn State.

The Hawkeyes had a three game win streak snapped with a 30-24 loss at Penn State while the Boiler’s four-game winning streak came to an end with a 23-13 setback at Michigan State.

That’s Purdue coach Jeff Brohm who says Iowa’s defense is a concern.

Brohm says the Iowa defense puts pressure on the quarterback without blitzing.

Brohm says the Purdue corners played too soft against Michigan State and he wants more press coverage against the Hawkeyes.

Kick off is at 2:30 pm in West Lafayette.
