No. 3 UNI Hosts No. 5 South Dakota State Friday Night To Open FCS Football Season

Cedar Falls, Iowa — A long-awaited football season kicks off Friday night in the UNI-Dome as third ranked Northern Iowa hosts fifth ranked South Dakota State. It begins an eight-game all Missouri Valley schedule and Panther coach Mark Farley says his players are ready.

After having the fall season canceled Farley says they appreciate the chance to compete.

It has been well over a year since their last game and Farley says the speed of the game is going to be a big adjustment.

The Panthers and Jackrabbits met twice during the 2019 season but Farley says like any first game adjustments will be crucial.

It is a seven o’clock kickoff in the UNI-Dome and ESPN-plus will carry the game. The school announce just over 27 hundred fans will be allowed in the dome. That is only 15 percent capacity and does not come close to including all the season ticket holders.
