Northwestern Looking To Build On Last Year’s Playoff Run

Northwestern College football looks to build on their success of last year after making the playoffs. Matt McCarty, in his third year as the Red Raiders’ head coach, and his staff return 16 starters and 26 letter-winners from a 2017 team that finished with a 10-2 record.

KIWA had a chance to talk to Coach McCarty at Northwestern’s media day, and the team has been looking good heading into the upcoming season.

Tyson Kooima is back under center after leading the Red Raiders as a freshman quarterback last year. McCarty tells us what to to expect from Kooima this year.

Northwestern’s leading rusher Jacob Kalogonis returns to the backfield and Coach McCarty breaks down what makes him a threat to opposing defenses.

The Red Raiders lost their top two receivers to graduation last year, and McCarty tells us who will fill those roles.

The Red Raiders first two games are road trips to North Dakota and McCarty is ready to go.
