Raiders Drop Baseball Doubleheader At Jamestown

Redfield, S.D. – The Northwestern College baseball team (16-22, 8-14 GPAC) traveled to South Dakota for a neutral site contest with the Jamestown Jimmies (22-21, 11-11 GPAC) in a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) doubleheader, dropping both games to the Jimmies. Jaden Snyder cleared the bases with a 3 RBI double in Game 2 to drive in all the Raider runs of the contest.

How It Happened

Jamestown took the early 1-0 lead thanks to a solo big fly from Tayler Cullen and the Jimmies never looked back after that.

The Jimmies extended their lead to 2-0 in the fourth, before breaking the game open with a five-run sixth inning to officially seal the deal, taking Game 1 7-0.

· Eli Rash extended his on-base streak to 14 games with a single to left in the fourth inning.

How It Happened

Northwestern struck first thanks to the bases clearing double from Snyder (Jr., Larchwood, Iowa/West Lyon) in the second inning to take the 3-0 lead early. Jamestown would respond with one run of their own in the bottom half of the frame to cut the lead to 3-1.

The Jimmies would push across two more unanswered runs in the third and fifth innings to knot the game up at 3-3.

Jamestown would push across the game-winning run in the eighth inning with an RBI single with the bases loaded to take the 4-3 lead, but a Raider defensive miscue would allow a couple more runs to cross the plate to make it the final score of 6-3.

Game Notes

· Jaden Snyder tallies his fourth multi-RBI game of the season, his first game with more than two RBIs.

· Eli Rash collected a hit in each of the two games, extending his on-base streak to 15 games.
