Payton Schwiesow of Hawarden has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Northwestern College.
Schwiesow is a three-sport standout who has played four years for the West Sioux High School softball team heading into her final season this summer. Schwiesow is a four-time all-state selection, earning first team honors after leading the Falcons to a 24-8 record and regional final appearance last summer. She hit .429, scored 31 runs and ranked third in the War Eagle Conference with 35 RBI last season. Schwiesow earned both all-district and all-conference recognition four years.
“I chose to continue by education and softball career at Northwestern because it felt like home and I knew it was a great fit for me. The faculty and coaches were so helpful and were so supporting through the process.”
An all-conference selection in volleyball and basketball as well, Schwiesow plans to major in elementary education at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Ryan and Heather.
