Second Round of Girls Golf Regionals set for Tuesday. 3A at Pocahontas Postponed to Wednesday

golf picNorthwest Iowa — Today is Girls State Golf Meet qualifying day with the second round of regional play.

In Class 3A tournament berths will be decided Wednesday at the Pocahontas Golf Club with today’s competition being postponed. MOC Floyd Valley will be competing as a team. Area individuals include Rachel Abele of Sheldon, Alex Mankle of Okoboji and MOC Floyd Valley team mates Kira Jasper and Lauren Webber.

In Class 2A area golfers will be at Deer Run in Hinton. Unity and Sibley Ocheyedan both qualified their teams for the second round. Area golfers who qualified as individuals included Chanda Zomermaand, Alyssa Fedders and Ava Grossman all of Unity Christian. Also making the cut were Sarah Honken and Brooke Grimes of Sibley Ocheyedan.

In Class 1A Central Lyon and Akron Westfield advanced out of the first round. Individual qualifyers included Kassie Peters of George Little Rock and Central Lyon team mates Hannah Sieperda and Sydney Peterson.
The second round of the 1A regional will be decided at the Newell Municipal Golf Course.
