Martha Stein of Milford has signed a letter of intent to continue her golf career at Northwestern College next fall.
Stein has had a standout, three-year career playing for the Okoboji High School golf team heading into her final season this spring. A two-time state qualifier, Stein helped lead her team to a state runner-up finish as a junior and a third place finish as a sophomore. She finished 14th (Soph.) and 26th (Jr.) at the state meet as an individual, earning all-state honors both years. Stein received all-conference honors the last three seasons, placing third (Soph.) and second (Jr.) individually.
“Martha is a talented player who has worked extremely hard on her game,” commented Northwestern Head Coach Courtney Den Herder. “She has experienced great success in high school and has played at a very high level. I am excited to have Martha join our Red Raider golf team and look forward to the contributions she will make both on our team and on campus.”
Stein is the two-time, defending champion on the Okoboji Tour, a month-long competition played on four area courses around Okoboji in the summer. She has personal bests of 38 (9 holes) and 83 (18 holes). An honors student who is a member of the National Honor Society, Stein plans to major in Biology / Health Professions / Pre-Med at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Chris and Leah.
