(Logo courtesy of the Great Plains Athletic Conference)Sioux City, Iowa — Two Northwestern College Red Raiders have been named as Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Volleyball Players-of-the-Week as announced by the GPAC Tuesday, September 22nd.
Stella Winterfeld is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Winterfeld, a senior, from Sioux Center and former standout at Western Christian High School, led the Raiders to a 3-0 week with two wins over Top 25 opponents.
She averaged 5.11 kills per set, with 20 against Viterbo and 25 against Dakota Wesleyan. She also picked up four service aces and seven blocks on the week.
Nyah Potthoff of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Potthoff, a sophomore from Gretna, Nebraska, averaged 11.90 assists per set in the 3-0 week for the Red Raiders.
She had 42 assists in the four-set win over No. 24 Viterbo and dished out 39 assists in a sweep of No. 12 Dakota Wesleyan. Potthoff also served four aces, totaled 25 digs, and blocked four attempts.
