(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men’s outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held April 19-25, 2021. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2020-2021 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Track Events – Matthew Van Eps, Dordt University
Matthew Van Eps of Dordt University is this week’s track athlete-of-the-week. Van Eps, a senior from Prinsburg, Minnesota, ran the fastest time of all divisions at the Drake Relays in the 800 meters. That times is the second fastest in the NAIA and best in the GPAC. He also ran a 48.01 split for the 4×400 team that finished fifth and ran the anchor for the 4×800 team that has the fastest time in the NAIA and the GPAC.
