Zevenbergen To Join Defender Track And Field

Sioux Center, Iowa — Cole Zevenbergen, a student at Western Christian, has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender track and field program.

Zevenbergen has run the 400 meters at Western and has earned all-conference honors in the sprint medley and 4×400 relays and was on a team that finished fifth in the 4×400 last season. The sprint medley team posted a season best 1:38.05 and the 4×400 ran a 3:27.94.

“We are excited that Cole has chosen Dordt University to further his education and participate in track and field! Cole has become an excellent long sprinter, and we are looking forward to seeing how he will develop as a runner,” said Dordt track and field coach Craig Heynen.

Cole is the son of Glenn and Stephanie Zevenbergen of Hull, Iowa. He plans to enter the pre-Chiropractic program at Dordt.

“I value a Christian education and I believe Dordt will help be grow as a Christian man and athlete,” said Zevenbergen.
