Former Humboldt Middle School Teacher Arrested For Alleged Relationship With Student

Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt County Sheriff says a former Humboldt Middle School teacher is charged with having a relationship with an underage high school student.

Information from the Sheriff’s Department says they started investigating reports of a possible relationship with a student in September of 2023 and the DCI joined the investigation that October. The investigation led to charges of third-degree sexual abuse and sexual exploitation by a school employee against 31-year-old Samantha Meyers-Davis of Rutland.

The Sheriff’s Department says the investigation turned up evidence that contact between Meyers-Davis and a 14-year-old student began in 2022. Meyers-Davis posted a 15 thousand dollar cash bond and was released. She has a court date scheduled for February 29th.
