Work On Rec Trail Around Pond South Of Pavilion Has Begun

Sheldon, Iowa — Construction has begun on the trail extension south of the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center in Sheldon, around the pond.

We talked to Sheldon Public Works Director Todd Uhl, who tells us what’s happening.

He tells us a little about this section of the trail.

Uhl tells us it shouldn’t take too long to complete.

He says the contractor doesn’t appear to be concerned about meeting the deadline, and the council felt the price was right as well.

Uhl tells us about funding sources for the project.

He says the balance will be paid from funds that the trail board allocated toward the project.

In other news from Uhl’s office, he says there will soon be some temporary traffic pattern changes at Sheldon Crossing at the intersection of Highway 18 and 34th Avenue/North Runger Avenue, due to construction. Uhl tells us they don’t have an exact timeframe yet on that, but we’ll keep you informed as we hear more.
