20 POUNDS Of Marijuana Recovered In Sheldon Traffic Stop

Sheldon, Iowa — The report of an erratic driver ended with a California woman facing multiple felony charges Monday evening.

According to Sheldon Police Chief Scott Burtch, a Sheldon officer responded to the call of an erratic driver and discovered a car weaving and driving 45 mph in a 65 mph zone on Highway 60.

Burtch says the ensuing traffic stop allegedly uncovered 20-pounds of marijuana with a street value of between $80,000 and $100,000 dollars, along with THC vape products, a quantity of ecstasy and drug paraphernalia.

Chief Burtch identifies the driver as 46-year-old Nicole Herndon, of California.

Herndon was charged with Possession of the 20-pounds of marijuana, which is a Class D Felony; Possession of Ecstasy, a Class C Felony; a Drug Tax Stamp Violation, a Class D Felony; Misdemeanor Possession of THC vapes; and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

She was also accused of No Valid Driver’s License, and Driving an Unregistered Vehicle. Burtch says Herndon is also suspected of Operating While Impaired in connection with the incident.

Chief Burtch says more charges are pending.

Herndon was placed under arrests and transported to the O’Brien County Jail at Primghar.
