Ashton Woman Taken To Hospital After George Area Accident

George, Iowa — An Ashton woman was taken to the hospital after an accident near George on Tuesday, April 12th.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, a few minutes before noon, 45-year-old Alonna Nordbye of Ashton was involved in a one-vehicle accident at 230th Street and Kiwi Avenue. That’s a mile south and two east of George or about a half-mile east of the Lyon County First Presbyterian Church.

The sheriff’s office reports that Nordbye had to be extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means and was transported to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Lyon County Ambulance.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says the George Fire Department, George Emergency Medical Service (GEMS), the Lyon County Ambulance, and TrackSide Towing of Alvord assisted with the response to the accident.
