Fire Causes Heavy Damage To Alton Ag Dealership

Alton, Iowa — Fire heavily damaged a farm and construction equipment dealership in Alton early Wednesday morning. Sioux County Emergency Manager Nate Huisinga says the call came in about 3:20 a.m. from Hawke and Company Ag on the outskirts of Alton.

He says five fire departments including firefighters from Alton, Orange City, Sioux Center, Hospers, and Granville responded. The business was closed at the time the fire broke out. No injuries are reported. Huisinga says the rain showers weren’t exactly a benefit.

There’s no word yet on what may have caused the fire.
