Sibley, Iowa — A Hartley man was taken to the hospital after an accident Wednesday.
According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, just before 7 pm on Wednesday, 22-year-old Slone Allen La Cour of Hartley was driving a 2017 Freightliner, registered to Cooperative Farmers Elevator of Rock Valley. According to the report, La Cour was attempting to turn northbound on Highway 60, entering the on ramp from Highway 9. The report states that he was driving too fast, causing the semi and trailer to overturn.
The Freightliner received $125,000 damage.
La Cour was transported to the Osceola Regional Health Center with what was described as non-incapacitating injuries and later released.
La Cour was cited with a charge of failure to maintain control.
The Sibley Fire Department assisted at the scene.
