Northwest Iowa — In an effort to reduce traffic deaths in the state, the Iowa State Patrol is embarking on an initiative called “Side With Us.”
Iowa State Patrol Trooper Kevin Krull explains.
Trooper Krull talks about the major factors involved in fatality rates in Iowa.
He says while a high percentage of Iowa’s drivers use their seat belts, the number who don’t represent a disproportionate number of fatalities in Iowa traffic crashes.
Krull says distracted driving and impaired driving continue to be major causes of traffic deaths.
Trooper Krull tells us the Iowa State Patrol will be looking to partner with other agencies on the “Side With Us” campaign.
