Boyden, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman is accused of leaving the scene after an accident near Boyden on Saturday, November 5th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly before 4:00 pm on Saturday, 26-year-old Jennifer Plueger of Rock Valley was driving a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser eastbound on Highway 18, two miles east of Boyden. Thirty-six-year-old Tori Driesen of Hull was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban pulling a trailer westbound on Highway 18. According to the report, Plueger crossed the center of the roadway and struck Driesen. The report continues that after striking Driesen, Plueger did not stop and drove to a residence near Sheldon, IA, where deputies located her.
The Chevrolet received $1000 damage. The Chrysler received $4000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
Plueger was reportedly cited for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center teen’s vehicle was damaged after going into the ditch to avoid a dog on the road on Saturday, November 5th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 3:05 pm on Saturday, 18-year-old Norma Ramos of Sioux Center was driving a 2003 Toyota Sienna minivan northbound on Grant Avenue, one mile southwest of Sioux Center. According to the report, Ramos swerved to avoid a dog on the roadway, lost control of the vehicle and entered the west ditch.
The Toyota received $2500 damage.
No injuries were reported.
Ramos was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
Maurice, Iowa — Two semi-tractors were damaged in a collision in Maurice on Saturday, November 5th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 7:15 am on Saturday, 22-year-old Matthew Anderson of Hawarden was driving a 2003 Kenworth semi-tractor southbound on Highway 75, in Maurice. Forty-eight-year-old Larry Anderson of Hospers was driving a 2015 Peterbilt semi-tractor westbound on 470th Street. According to the report, Anderson stopped for the stop sign at Highway 75, attempted to turn south onto Highway 75 and was struck by the Kenworth in the intersection.
The Kenworth received $500 damage. The Peterbilt received $6000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
