Maurice, Iowa — An Ireton man was arrested recently on drug charges after someone called in a complaint.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Saturday evening, September 26, they received a complaint of a Buick Park Avenue Electra, which was being driven in a dangerous manner near the intersection of 470th Street and Highway 75 in Maurice. Deputies located the vehicle a short time later on 470th Street, a mile east of Ireton and stopped it.
They report that the vehicle was driven by 25-year-old Nathan Clipperton of Ireton. Upon further investigation, deputies suspected that Clipperton was intoxicated on drugs.
Clipperton was arrested and was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated‐drugged, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of prescription drugs.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by an Iowa State Patrol Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).
