Larchwood, Iowa — A minivan was destroyed in a fire on Thursday, October 1, 2020, in Larchwood.
According to Larchwood Fire Chief Tony DeSmet, about 4:45 p.m., the Larchwood Fire Department was called to the report of a car on fire on Main Street in front of the Larchwood Post Office.
The chief says the fire department saw the minivan on fire as they approached the scene and made quick work of extinguishing the blaze.
DeSmet says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire appeared to be electrical in nature.
Chief DeSmet reports that the minivan was totaled in the blaze, but nothing else burned.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about 20 minutes.
