OC Warrant Arrest Leads To More Charges

Orange City, Iowa — The arrest of an Orange City man on Christmas Eve afternoon for the alleged violation of pretrial release provisions culminated in additional felony and misdemeanor charges.

According to court records, around 2:25 Tuesday afternoon, four Orange City Police officers went to the Orange City home of Timothy Randall Droog to serve three warrants for alleged pretrial release violations. Authorities say as Droog was being taken into custody, he allegedly resisted, pulled away from the officer, and fled on foot. Police reportedly gave chase and subdued Droog on a neighbor’s property, where he was taken into custody.

The court records indicate that during the pat down of Droog at the time of his arrest, a broken piece of a glass methamphetamine pipe was allegedly found in his pocket. Authorities say police asked Droog if there was anything else illegal on him before they brought him to jail, and he reportedly made no indication to officers that he was in possession of anything else illegal.

Court records indicate that once Droog arrived at the Sioux County Jail, a jailer allegedly found a methamphetamine pipe with meth residue inside it in his coat pocket.

Sioux County Jail records indicate that Droog was booked into the jail on the trio of Violation of Pretrial Release charges, plus new charges of: Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd or Subsequent Offense, a Class D Felony; Possession of Contraband in a Correctional Facility, a Class D Felony; Interference With Official Acts Causing Bodily Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor.

Sioux County Jail records indicate that, as of noon Thursday (December 26th), Droog was being held in the Sioux County Jail in lieu of a $6,300 cash or surety bond.
