Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Rock Rapids woman was taken to a hospital after an accident on Tuesday morning.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 5:35 a.m., 56-year-old Vickie Fowler of Rock Rapids was driving westbound on Highway 9 near Garfield Avenue, three miles west of Rock Rapids, when the report says she lost control of her vehicle, which caused the vehicle to strike the rear axle of a semi-truck and trailer driven by 48-year-old William Senkle of Sioux Falls.
The Lyon County Ambulance took Fowler to Sanford Rock Rapids Hospital. The report says she sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Fowler’s 2005 Pontiac Grand Am is estimated to be a total loss. The Senkle truck, owned by Bennett Trucking Inc. of Windom, Minnesota is estimated to have $10,000 in damage.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that the Rock Rapids Fire Department and the Lyon County Ambulance crew assisted on the scene.
