Sanborn Man Facing Narcotics Charges

Sanborn, Iowa — A Sanborn man faces both felony and misdemeanor narcotics-related charges following his arrest by Sanborn Police Wednesday night.

Court documents indicate that 25-year-old Nicholas Andrew Koontz was allegedly found to be in possession of 10 or more dosage units of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, otherwise known as LSD, and had failed to affix a Drug Tax Stamp to those drugs, which led to a Serious Misdemeanor charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, which is a Class D Felony, according to the Iowa Code.

In addition, court documents indicate that Koontz allegedly had in his possession less than 50 kilograms of marijuana, leading to a charge of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, which is a Class D Felony, as well as Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

O’Brien County Jail records indicate that Koontz was transported to the O’Brien County Jail, and was released late Thursday morning.
