Missouri Valley, Iowa– A Sheldon man has died as a result of an ATV crash near Missouri Valley on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 6:20 p.m., 64-year-old Kathleen Sterler of Sheldon was driving a 2018 Polaris ATV eastbound on Highway 127, about five miles east of Mondamin or 10 miles north of Missouri Valley.
The report says that the ATV exited the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled over. A passenger on the ATV, 70-year-old William Kerwin Sterler of Sheldon, was ejected and sustained fatal injuries.
Kathleen Sterler sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
They tell us the investigation continues.
The troopers say that the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and Mondamin Rescue assisted on the scene.
