Sanborn, Iowa — O’Brien County has been awarded two USDA Rural Business Development Grants totaling $198,000 to support local economic development efforts.
The O’Brien County Economic Development Corporation (OCEDC) received $99,000, and the Sanborn Revolving Loan Fund was also awarded $99,000. The grants were awarded through the USDA’s Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) program.
OCEDC administers four revolving loan funds: a county fund, a USDA Intermediary Relending Program fund, an existing RBDG fund awarded in 2015, and the Sanborn Revolving Loan Fund.
The new RBDG awards will be used in the same way as existing funds — to attract, retain, or expand business and industry in O’Brien County.
OCEDC Executive Director Kiana Johnson says they are grateful for the commitment from local partners and committees who make their progress possible.
