Iowa (RI) — Iowa public safety officials say they are closely monitoring election activity across the state to help ensure the voting process remains safe and secure.
Iowa Department of Public Safety Commissioner Stephen Bayens says state, local, and federal agencies have been working together to monitor potential threats and investigate suspected criminal activity.
Bayens says voters can help by relying on trusted sources of information and being cautious about election-related content they see online.
He says the best sources for election information are county auditors and the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office.
Bayens says law enforcement also remains focused on protecting election workers, voters, and polling places.
Bayens says authorities will continue monitoring the situation before, during, and after Election Day and are prepared to respond to any credible threats or attempts to interfere with the electoral process.
