Statewide Iowa (RI) — 96 of Iowa’s 99 counties will be under an Extreme Heat Warning starting at noon Monday and running through 9 p.m. tomorrow. The remaining three counties — Lyon, Osceola and Dickinson — are under a Heat Advisory.
National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Lee says it’ll be brutal.
He anticipates July will begin much like June is ending — steamy.
Lee says some rainfall is possible, which could help relieve the oppressive heat a little.
Forecasters remind Iowans to stay hydrated, take breaks when working in the heat, and never leave pets or children in cars — even for a few minutes.
