Sioux Center Man Injured After Loader Goes Into Lagoon

sioux county sheriff emblemRock Valley, Iowa — A Sioux Center man was injured after his skid loader became submerged in a lagoon near Rock Valley on Monday, November 28th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 7:01 pm on Monday, 50-year-old Jose Vazquez of Sioux Center was driving a New Holland skid loader at a farm on Fig Avenue, five miles southeast of Rock Valley. According to the report, Vazquez lost control of the skid loader and entered a lagoon. The report continues that the skid loader became submerged in the lagoon and Vazquez was removed from the skid loader by co‐workers.

The skid loader received $10,000 damage.

Vazquez reported minor injuries but decline further medical attention.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rock Valley Ambulance.
