Teen Taken To Hospital After Hospers Accident

Hospers AmbulanceHospers, Iowa — A Peterson teen was taken to a hospital after an accident near Hospers on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 7:55 p.m., 19-year-old Derek Lane of Peterson was driving a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup westbound on Fir Street in Hospers when he entered a curve in the road and lost control of the vehicle. It left the roadway and struck a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser and a 2010 Toyota Camry that were parked and unattended on a residential driveway.

The Hospers Ambulance took Lane to the Orange City Health System Hospital.

They report that the Lane Dodge pickup sustained about $4,000 dollars in damage. The Chrysler sustained about $8,000 in damage, and the Toyota sustained about $100 in damage.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Hospers Ambulance and Hospers Fire Department assisted them with the response to the accident.
