Sioux Center, Iowa — A Hudson, SD teen and a Sioux Center man and his passenger were taken to hospitals and two cars, one of them a classic car were totaled after an accident in Sioux Center on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 5:30 p.m., 18-year-old Jade Elcock of Hudson, SD was driving a 2015 Dodge Dart westbound on 12th Street Northeast, near McDonald’s. Thirty-five-year-old Miguel Robles of Sioux Center was northbound on Highway 75 in a 1950 Chevy Delux.
The report says that Elcock was stopped at a stop sign facing west attempting to make a left turn to head south on Highway 75. It says there was a semi headed north making a right turn to head east onto 12th Street from Highway 75. Robles’ classic Chevy was headed northbound in the inside lane when Elcock turned in front of it. Robles then
struck the Elcock Dodge in the driver’s side. Airbags were deployed in the Elcock vehicle. No airbags were installed in the classic car.
One Sioux Center Ambulance took Elcock to Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley. Another Sioux Center Ambulance took Robles and a passenger in the vehicle, 13-year-old Luis Robles to the Orange City Health System Hospital. All occupants were thought to have serious injuries.
Both vehicles were considered totaled in the crash.
Elcock was charged with failure to yield from a stop sign.
