Resident Of Pride Group Accused Of Sexual Abuse Of Someone Unable To Give Consent

Primghar, Iowa — An Ocheyedan man living at the Pride Group near Primghar faces a felony charge after an incident last week.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court’s office, 31-year-old Jacob Naviaux of Ocheyedan allegedly sexually assaulted another resident of the Pride Group on Wednesday, November 9th. The complaint says the victim lacks the mental capacity to give consent.

Naviaux is charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony. If convicted of a class C felony, Naviaux could face up to 10 years in prison.

He faces a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, November 22nd in Primghar. At last report, he remained in the O’Brien County Jail.
