Sioux Falls Woman Taken To Hospital After Accident; Authorities Seek Information

Rock Valley, Iowa — A Sioux Falls woman was taken to a hospital and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is looking for answers after an accident on Friday afternoon, January 14th.

According to the sheriff’s office, a few minutes before 4:00 p.m., 19-year-old Kerina Provost of Sioux Falls was driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla Max eastbound on 360th Street, about seven miles southwest of Rock Valley, when she reported a vehicle traveling westbound on 360th Street entered the eastbound lane. She says she swerved to avoid striking it, and lost control of her vehicle, which entered the south ditch. She said that the other vehicle continued without stopping and was described as a tan vehicle with a male driver.

The Rock Valley Ambulance took Provost to Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley. Her injuries were described as minor.

The Toyota sustained approximately $3,000 in damage.

Provost was cited on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

The sheriff’s office says the Rock Valley Fire Department and Rock Valley Ambulance Squad assisted with the response to the accident. Authorities ask — if you have any information about the tan vehicle or driver — please contact the sheriff’s office.
