4-H Amazing Race To Feature Osceola County

Sibley, Iowa — There’s a fun race coming up in Osceola County, and you can learn more about the area while you’re participating.

Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach will host its second annual Osceola County “Amazing Race” on Sunday, October 1 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Osceola County Fairgrounds (209 West 9th Street, Sibley).

The event, which resembles the popular television show “The Amazing Race” requires teams to drive across the county completing challenges as they go. The team to reach the finish line first is crowned the winner.

Ashley Peters, the event coordinator and Osceola County Youth Coordinator with ISU Extension and Outreach tells us about it.

She says there’s still time to register.

The race itself will be a week from Sunday.

She says it’s open to “anybody and everybody.”

She says the race has two key purposes. First of all, it is a way for local 4-H clubs to kick off their new 4-H year, and secondly, it provides a fun, family-friendly activity that brings together families, friends, and community members.

Teams can register online at https://form.jotformpro.com/4Hregion1/2017-2nd-annual-osceola-county-amaz or by contacting the ISU Extension and Outreach – Osceola County office at 712-754-3648, emailing akpeters@iastate.edu or by stopping by the office located at 110 Cedar Lane in Sibley.
