Sheldon, Iowa — Details are few at this time, but a power outage on Sunday morning put most of Sheldon in the dark. And an animal is getting the blame.
Dan Winters with MidAmerican Energy tells us an animal contacted equipment in Sheldon on Sunday at approximately 9 a.m., which affected substation equipment. He says MidAmerican crews quickly responded and restored service by approximately 10:15 a.m.
At last report, the exact radius of the outage was not available, nor was what kind of animal caused the outage, but witnesses say most of Sheldon was without power for over an hour.
We’ll have more information if it becomes available.
