Ashton, Iowa — The town of Ashton is celebrating the United States’ 250th birthday in a special way this weekend.

One of the organizers, Sandi Cox of Ashton, tells us what they’ve got planned on Sunday.

The “Mark” that Cox was talking about is Mark Carlson, who is the Ashton American Legion Commander. He says they’ve gone to some length to prepare for the event.

Cox tells us what to expect if you come to their Flag Day celebration.

Everyone is invited — both from Ashton and from anywhere else. Carlson tells us about something else special they have planned.

It’ll be at the Ashton Legion Community Center on Main Street in Ashton. Again, they hope to start at 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening, June 14th.
