“Elf Hunt” Planned At Prairie Heritage Center

Sutherland, Iowa — If you like geocaching or using a GPS unit while hiking to try to find places or things, there’s a Christmas-themed event coming up just for you at the Prairie Heritage Center between Sutherland and Peterson.

How about searching for ELVES while enjoying the great outdoors! The O’Brien County Conservation Board is holding a GPS scavenger hunt at the Prairie Heritage Center, 4931 Yellow Ave, on Saturday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m., says naturalist Charlene Elyea.

After the team has captured the elf, there will be an opportunity to warm up at the center with hot cocoa and a snack.

She says the program is free and open to all. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a family-friendly program, she says.

For more information, you can contact the Prairie Heritage Center at 712-295-7200.
