Boyden, Iowa — An open house was held Tuesday for a new $14.75-million feed mill in Boyden. Farmer’s Coop Society had announced construction of the facility a little more than two years ago, and now the facility is ready to be put into operation.
Jared Terpstra is Feed Division Manager, and he says the new mill will manufacture approximately 3-thousand tons per day.
He says the mill will grind roughly the equivalent of three hundred acres of corn each day.
Terpstra says the new feed mill is great economic news for the Boyden area, both in number of jobs created, and property tax generated.
Approximately 400 people enjoyed lunch, and toured the new mill during Tuesday’s open house.
