KIWA Blood Drive Collects Enough Blood To Save Over 100 Lives

Sheldon, Iowa — Many lives may be saved with the blood that was collected when the bloodmobile was parked in front of the KIWA studios on Thursday, September 15th.

That’s Ken Versteeg, from the Community Blood Bank. He says that much blood can save 102 lives.

For the last couple of years, September hasn’t been a good month to have a blood drive, thanks to COVID. When a person has recently had COVID they are not eligible to give blood.

Versteeg tells KIWA that throughout the years KIWA’s blood drives have collected a total of 1,520 units of blood.
