KIWA Sits Down With Dem 4th District Candidate JD Scholten

Sheldon, Iowa — One of the Democrats who hope to be chosen to face 4th District Congressman Steve King in the 2018 general election stopped by the KIWA Studios while visiting Sheldon Friday morning.

JD Scholten was raised and educated in northwest Iowa, graduating from Morningside, where he was a baseball stand-out.  After graduating from college, Scholten says he played professional baseball in Canada, Europe, and the Sioux City Explorers, as well as an exhibition game in Cuba. Scholten says he started working in the legal field at the end of his baseball career.

Scholten is hoping to replace Steve King as 4th District Congerssman, so we asked him about his major differences with King.

We asked Scholten whay he wants to represent Iowa’s 4th District in Congress.

Scholten is one of three Democrats who have tossed their hats into the ring for the chance to face King in next year’s general election. Other Democrat candidates are Paul Dahl of Waterloo, and Leann Jacobsen of Spencer.
