George, Iowa — A power outage affected over 250 people northwest of Sheldon on Thursday, September 21st, 2017.
Alliant Energy says the outage affected 270 of their customers in the Matlock and George areas.
The power was interrupted about 2:35 p.m. and power was restored by 3:15 p.m., according to Alliant Energy Communications Program Manager Mike Wagner.
Wagner reports that Alliant Energy crews found that the cause was a tree limb that fell on the lines.
Power was off for a total of 40 minutes in the area.
