Late Week Storm Could Bring Up To 12″ Of Snow To The Area – Prompts Blizzard Watch

snowplow snow plowNorthwest Iowa — Earlier this week we told you about a major winter storm system that seems to be aimed directly toward our area.  Now the National Weather Service Office in Sioux Falls says they can make a more accurate prediction of storm track, and snowfall amounts.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Todd Heitkamp says there is no doubt that, here in the upper Midwest, we’re going to feel the brunt of the storm.

Heitkamp says that not only will this be a strong storm system, but it will represent something of a shock when compared to the weather we’ve experienced recently.

As of early Thursday morning, forecasters at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls have canceled the watches for our area, and replaced them with a Blizzard Warning.

We’ll keep you up to date on the storm, as well as any postponements and cancellations that it may cause, on KIWA Radio, and online at kiwaradio.com.
