Lewis & Clark Gets Cash Infusion From Iowa Legislature

Northwest Iowa — The Lewis & Clark Water System got a financial boost this week from the Iowa legislature.

Lewis & Clark Executive Director Troy Larson says state lawmakers passed an infrastructure bill which contained funding for several key pieces of Iowa construction.

That combined $7-million dollars in funding will lead to more construction in northwest Iowa.

Larson says they’re making progress in getting the Iowa towns connected to the system.

Lewis & Clark provides water to communities in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota from wells near the Missouri River south of Vermillion. Meanwhile towns like Sheldon, Sioux Center, Hull and Sibley are patiently waiting on construction of the Lewis & Clark pipeline that will eventually provide water to their cities.
